Remains of the Day

Three little boys sit in a sandbox. Leaf-filtered orange sunlight plays on their bronzed skin and in the summer highlights of their hair. Three little boys lost in imagination--moving vehicles, excavating sites, building castles. Each in his own world. All in the same box.

Sunday Adventure

Baby crawfish

Beaver Dam

Jeremy took the boys to explore the creek in our neighborhood. They had a blast, staying much longer than they thought they would and running home to escape an afternoon thundershower.

Waste Not, Want Not

After dinner last night my husband asked, "Could the kids have....something?"

I knew what he was getting at, but suggested instead, "There's a pineapple we should eat because it is getting overly ripe."

"Yeah," Simeon chimed in having followed the conversation,"and what about that ice cream that could get all moldy?"

Our second egg has hatched. These two are very sweet. The boys are calling them "Sitty" and "Hoppy" because one is a homebody and the other has places to go.

Micah gets a carrot after Jeremy thins the garden.

One of our Nighthawk eggs has hatched. The kids were so proud today.
