Question: Why is the bathroom rug ALWAYS covered in toothpaste?

Answer: I saw the two year old this morning gently place his toothbrush on the bathroom rug, bristles up. Then, he very carefully opened the bottle of Cool Mint Colgate and holding it about three feet over the brush, he aimed and squeezed. You know, he actually got a surprising amount of toothpaste on the brush itself. I was impressed.

Boys. Thankfully, you've been blessed with a sense of humor.

As I read the title of this post, my heartrate increased and my jaw tightened. But with us, it is towels. They are minty fresh.

At least he got some on the actual brush---very impressive for a two-year-old.

This must be toothpaste day!

I caught my 20 month old brushing away, her sister's toothbrush in one hand and the Tom's of Maine goofy grape in the other. Fortunately I got there before either of them made it to the floor.

Then, of course, while visiting Grandma later I got reprimanded for not watching them closely enough! Ha! What's a mom to do?

Sounds like others have toothpaste issues, too.

themommykelly, Reprimanded? I say you're doing just fine.

Hey, us too! Except, for us it's always little gobs of paste allll along the walls, sides of the cabinet, etc. No one can explain to me how toothpaste blobs get on the wall four feet to the side of the sink....

My toddler is obsessed with the toothpaste! Eating it, squeezing it in the sink and then fingerpainting, shoving things up the tube and hding it so no one else can find it. He walks around the house screaming for "paste" most of the day...what is it about minty freshness that's so appealing to a two year old?

What is it about toothpaste that makes my littlest ones use it like fingerpaint? On the plus side, their bathroom always smells minty fresh, and there are several "clean spots" on the wall near the sink.

Oh, Suzanne, I don't get a chance to visit much anymore, but you still send me away laughing. Toothpaste issues. :)
