My trainee is trained! He's in undies and dry both day and night. We've even weaned him off the treats. There may be set backs still, but for some reason I just don't think so.
Now my trainee is training me. He has a buzzer and bell system and I'm not sure where he learned it, but it works like this...
Z: May I have a cookie?
Me: No.
Z: Bzzzzt. (wrong answer)
May I have a cookie?
Me: Yes.
Z: Ding. (correct answer)
How long, do you think, before this gets old?

Sounds similar to the conversations I have with my three year old son.
"Mama, can I have a cookie?"
"No."
"Mama, can I have a cookie?"
"No."
"Mama, can I have a cookie?"
"No."
"Mama! You can't just keep saying no over and over and over and over again!"
He underestimates me. I have learned well from my two year olds. ;)
You have a beautiful family! God bless!
Please tell it was your 3 year old and not your 2 year old that is trained or I'm going to have an epileptic fit. My 3 1/2 yr old is a terror of stubborness. My son was soooo much easier to train than this little girl of mine :-(
Rest assured, jen, it was my three year old.
Congratulations! There is nothing so satisfying as finally getting a small child out of diapers. Works well for the budget too.
My 2 1/2 year old stubbornly refuses to even acknowledge the potty, whereas 6 months ago, before I was ready to begin training, he was most happy to sit on the potty repeatedly.
The 2 year old mind is a wonder!
Congratulations -- to you and Zachary!
Good job with the training....now that buzzer thing...hmmm, could last for years! ;)
Congratulations! Have a cookie! Have four cookies! Don't worry - you'll burn them off jumping up and down! :-)
Congratulations!
Isn't it a great feeling when the training finally sinks in?
We're still working with our little one, but he's making progress...
