Happy Anniversary to my parents, whose perfect combination of love and intelligence planted my faith firmly in good soil and watered and fed it all these years!
The charity and example of these two so convinced my heart that God is good. And their ability to answer my every question regarding any tenet of the Faith so completely to satisfaction convinced me that the Faith they chose for me at my Baptism was the most reasonable way to live as well. And so at Confirmation, I chose it again for myself.
My parents have given me life, love, support, guidance and encouragement all my life but of all the gifts they have given me, it is my Faith and my family that I treasure most.
Together they raised nine children and all nine still hold the same Faith and encourage one another in it daily.
Thank you, Mom and Dad.

I always love to hear success stories. My family seems to be about 50/50 on keeping the next generation in the Church. We're hoping to buck that trend and keep all ours in the fold. Please let us know when your parents have written an instruction book so we can all buy it!

Are you aware that Confirmation's meaning is not "choosing the faith for oneself"- rather a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit? Sorry- just a pet peeve of mine-- Jan

I do not know the exact nature of your "pet peeve" but I did not mean to imply that reasoned consent is required for Confirmation. Confirmation can be given-- and is in Eastern Churches-- to infants immediately following baptism.
