The road in front of our house is being repaved this morning. There are street sweepers and pavers and rollers, dump trucks and mixers and more. All the boys are excited, but these two....these two are glued, absolutely glu-ued to this window. They are watching quietly, but every once in a while they exhale with profound awe or chatter oo...oo...a big one...a red one, look, look...a truck.

How boyish!! My 4 yo son's dream is to grow up to be a garbage collector! Something about big trucks for little boys!
I think it's universal. My daycare is doubling in size, and the kids are extatic that they can watch from the safety of the dining room window into the new section.
It is inspiring for them to see this go up. My dd now wants to be a construction worker and build houses.
At least you know that they aren't up to mischief today.
I just love little boys!!! Mine did the same thing when ours was being paved.
Ha -- great photos! My boy would be doing exactly the same thing. He has that not-uncommon obsession with trucks, diggers, cars, motorcycles, mowers, etc.
Suzanne, I would inquire as to whether you think it's just a boy thing, but I guess you wouldn't be the best person to ask. ;-)
(Perhaps you know from experience with your nieces?)
ryan, I know of no little girls that have been fascinated by trucks in the way my boys have, or many other boys I know have. Vive La Difference!
Ah Suzanne, that's because you haven't my little lily. She gives me full detailed reports of the progress made at the daycare daily. Complete with what kind of trucks were there, what they do, what colour they are... She can hardly wait to see what truck comes by next!
My boys would also enjoy watching all this activity. Mine, however, never seem to miss an opportunity to earn a little cash. They would probably be out there trying to setup a lemonade stand!
Construction Trucks Rock in our house too, ala 3 wannabe Contractors!! Adorable photos!
heehee...we had two big trees taken down from our yard this spring and had a lot of fun with that too. My 2 year old stood at the screen door screaming, "Yay! Again, again!"
Ha! At first I thought they were looking at Spring flowers, until I read further! Too cute! :)
Precious pics! I remember a couple of my brothers sitting for hours in our front yard years ago watching men on large machinery working on the street.
There is no better entertainment for little boys.
