Nobody asked me to see this, but I'm showing you anyway. In my post, Broken, I mentioned the invitation to our betrothal. It got me to thinking about it and I dug it out. Here it is. I drew it to mimic a Renaissance woodcutting. So, this is how it all began and its been pretty much the same ever since: A bumpy ride through a strange land. And, my arm is starting to get tired from holding up that Olive branch all these years, but I've been happy all the while-- other arm wrapped firmly around my plumed hero.

Suzanne, you are such a gifted artist! I am truly impressed. Plus, the idea of a betrothal ceremony is really neat. Never heard of that before.
My husband and I got betrothed, but didn't think to do invitations. It was just family present, along with a few friends.
Now, if I were you, I would be framing that!
Yes, frame it!!! It's funny, I was going to suggest celtic knotwork to busy your sons' hands. (My husband and I enjoy this) I love the border- and the picture. I would be tempted to carve the picture into linoleum block.
oh- and what does the bird represent? Incessant chatter comes to mind...

Please don't tell your husband that I read "plumped" hero instead of "plumed". It gave me a chuckle!
Suzanne, you were truly meant to be a writer and an artist!....AND the mother of little boys! I soooo enjoy your blog!
Very beautiful! What wonderful talents you share with your sons (and us)!
Maybe your ride wouldn't be quite so bumpy if your driver could keep his eyes on the road instead of you. :)
I agree with Betty completely---you are so gifted! And therefore, we are as well. Thanks for sharing, Suzanne.
What a gorgeous drawing! Now I wish that I'd had a betrothal party, too.
Thank you all for your kind words!
Beautiful.
Suzanne, I can't believe I am saying this, but you draw as well as you write! And you write incredibly well!
Very beautiful - thanks for sharing your talent with us.
