A wonderful bird is the Pelican
His bill can hold more than his belican...

You know, at Mother Angelica's shrine in Irondale, AL, they have a picture of a pelican up by the altar. I didn't know what that meant, but then my mom told me that they believe the pelican is a symbol of Jesus, because if a mother pelican's babies are starving, she will feed her flesh to her babies. She'll give up her own body to save her babies.

It is very reminiscent of Ogden Nash's poetry:

The cow is of the bovine ilk,
one end is moo, the other milk.

The trouble with a kitten's that
Eventually it becomes a cat.
