When your knowledge of the natural world outstrips your knowledge of phonics, the result sounds something like this...
Jacob: working with his beginning sounds phonics cards
B..bb...b..b..bPraying Mantis (bug)
S...s..ss..ss..sBlack Widow (spider)
S...s....sss..s..sAnaconda (snake)
I..I...i.iii...iKatydid (insect)
T..ttt...ttt..tGalapagos Tortise (turtle)
Confusing. Perhaps I should look for cards with more generic looking pictures?

THAT is awesome!
Hey,
That's one smart boy! Who needs phonics?
That's hilarious! What a bright boy!
You've got me beat...Little Brother gets his knowledge of the underwater world from a video game (eek!)
ha ha - too cute! :)
Cute! What a smart little man for using the things he DID know.
Phonics, Science, what's the difference. As long as he is learning. Maybe you should tape the correct letters according to Jacob over the intended sounds.
I love reading what your boys are doing. It always makes me smile.
I am so impressed. Sounds like he doesn't need those phonics cards at all.
Love. That.
~K!
That is great!
I agree, you should just tape the "correct" letter onto the cards!
That is such a great homeschooling moment!! And a good idea from lapazfarm to put the new letter on it!
I love it!
