to go with my "Apple" and hopefully two other fruits to be framed and hung in a square in my kitchen. However amateur, I think it's nice to decorate living spaces with some things you've done yourself. Any suggestions as to what the other two fruits should be?

Great paintings from the boys! How about a bunch of purple grapes - a Granny Smith apple - a pomegranate or clump of cherries??? Susanne, your paintings are very pretty.
Are you staying in North America? Grapes would be good, peach or nectarine too. If you're willing to go exotic or tropical, what about Mango or Dragon fruit?

I am with the grape crowd. A big bunch of them. Purple, green, doesn't matter. And I like the plum idea too. My mother did our dining room (after many years of neglect) in a vineyard/grape motif and it is amazing. It makes me wish my parents weren't selling the house :). At least when you are ready to put your home on the market again, you will be able to take these with you!
love your boys, still :) i used to frame art like theirs and still have a rendering of our home with the two houses on either side my son did when he was a wee one.

On the fruit, I'm a big strawberry fan myself.
I think a mango and some cherries would keep your pictures in the same color family (yellows, greens and reds) plus it would continue the "theme" of fruit with stems and leaves. Mangos also have very interesting leaves but if it is too tropical for your tastes, I would go with a peach for the same reasons.

Grapes and cherries might be too numerous and distract from the simplicity of the subjects already established....just a thought, but "high Seas" beats all!

I go with the plum and peach people - I like the idea of your fruits all being "single" fruits.

Thank you, everyone! It looks like the peach and plum people are winning and since I was inclined that way myself from the start, I think I will be going with that.
I may need to do a berry and cherry mix at some later time.
After 4 kids and 9 grandkids, art work of all kinds hangs in our home, along with lots of craft items by someone in the family. I have a difficult time replacing personal artwork with others except for the religious pictures. Keep up the good work, and the great art work.

Of all the things I have kept from my older kids youngest days, their artwork is my favorite. You have lovely things to choose from, and I bet there is more where that came from, eh?

Definitely a pineapple, a lemon blossom, or a melon-- or a beautiful sliced open tomato-I've been drooling all over the "Seed Savers" catalog, trying to decide what we are going to do in our garden this summer. Melons are a voluptuous must, and I'm in the mood for warm, fragrant tomato flesh yet I do wish (in my typical unreasonable "I want the world" way) that we had a few more tropical breezes to boost-- I'm imagining avocados and lemons and the Lordly Pineapple, with is crazy crown--I think it would be an interesting subject--all those golden dark-centered diamonds lined up in proper order (as i type this I have two kittens imprisoned in my jacket--mewing distractingly--- I'm trying to give their little brother Runty a chance at mama's tummy. He is literally half their size, and deserves a chance!)
Have fun filling the winter with ripe fruit!
