Last night, Jeremy was praying with the three oldest boys in their bedroom while I was with Zachary and Nicholas in the next room. Zachary was listening to the prayers and joining in from time to time. At the close of the prayers there was a short litany and Zachary joined in like this...
Jeremy: Our Lady of Guadalupe
Three boys: Pray for us
Zachary: Play with us
He continued to repeat this response after every saint named.

I can't stop laughing. That is sooo cute.
I think he's on to something there! (I also think Little Brother would get along with him just fine)

That is so cute, thanks for the great laugh!
He is so scrumptious!
precious!
How sweet, Suzanne! Off the subject, please wish our dear godson a very happy birthday today! We miss him.
That's a good one, Suzanne! :) I love it kids misunderstand (and mispronounce) prayers and such...we're in the throes of "Free toys! Free toys! Emman-u-el, shall come to Thee, O Israel!" with our 6 year old every night at the Advent wreath lighting. He just will NOT concede that the word in that song is "Rejoice!" :) And with Emma we had, "May all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in pieces. Amen."
If only they stayed this little for longer! :)

There are a few bonuses to this...
1) You know they have good friends, and excellent role models.
2) If the saints "play with us", we know that they will keep a close eye on us and certainly pray for us!
(It is certainly adorable when kids mispronounce words - although in certain circumstances, I wonder if they don't actually have right to begin with!)
I don't know which was more hilarious, this post or the previous one!
I LOVE that response! And I bet he really meant play!
